ROME (AFX) - A Tunisian national has been deported from Italy under new anti-terrorist laws, Italian authorities said -- the third North African to be expelled from the country in a week.

Italian authorities said Ben Said Faycal was a suspected member of radical Islamic cells in the north of Italy.

He was arrested at home in the northern town of Azzate on Tuesday night on the orders of the interior ministry.

On Monday night a Moroccan imam, Bouriqi Bouchta, accused of being an Islamic activist, was arrested in Turin and deported to Morocco.

Last week, Litayem Amor Ben Chedli -- the Tunisian treasurer of an Islamic cultural association in the northwestern town of Como -- was also expelled.
