BAGHDAD, Iraq, Jan. 14 - An extremist Sunni group believed to have ties to Al Qaeda took responsibility on Friday for killing an aide to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the aide's son and four guards with a car bomb on Wednesday evening.

In a message posted on Islamist Web sites, a group describing itself as a brigade of the Ansar al-Islam organization said the attack on the Sistani disciple, Sheik Mahmoud al-Madaini, in a town south of Baghdad, was part of a campaign "against mercenaries and traitors who have sold their honor," Reuters reported.
