The Mujahideen Army Claims Responsibility for Bombing Operations and Attacks Targeting American and Iraqi National Guard Forces in al-Anbar and Baghdad
By SITE Institute
September 29, 2005

The Mujahideen Army [Jeish al-Mujahideen], issued three communiqués today, September 29, 2005, claiming responsibility for bombing operations and attacks targeting American and Iraqi National Guard forces yesterday in al-Anbar and Baghdad.

The first communiqué describes an operation in al-Anbar, involving an ambush of a convoy composed of American soldiers and National Guards, allegedly destroying a Humvee and a large troop transportation vehicle and killing more than ten. The message indicates that the roads were closed to search for the mujahideen; however, ?they returned safely.?

In the al-Sayediya area near al-Dawra, the group attacked American forces with RPGs, BKCs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), allegedly destroying two Humvees and damaging a tank in the convoy.

According to the third communiqué, several IEDs were detonated on the road where the ?crusader and National Guard convoys travel to al-Dawra,? resulting in the destruction of three vehicles, killing all the passengers.

A full translation of the three messages is available to our Intel Service members.
