Video Provides Detailed Instruction for the Construction of Explosive Charges on Gas Cylinders
By SITE Institute
September 29, 2005

A highly detailed 12:14 minute video depicting instructions for the preparation of two different types of explosive charges on gas cylinders was recently posted to a password-protected al-Qaeda affiliated forum. The narrator explains that the easily attainable nature of the gas containers have led ?us to think… why not use them together with some additions that are also abundant, for an easily-constructed explosive charge?? The video instruction shows a step-by-step process involving the necessary equipment for the charge, carefully guiding the viewer from the mixing of ingredients, to fastening the charge on a gas cylinder. Two different cylinders are subsequently detonated, the intensity of each respective explosion visible to the viewer.

This video seems to be of the same production and narration as others which explained the manufacture of a ?thunder bomb ? and an explosive belt for suicide operations .

The video clip, summary, and translation of selected narration is provided to our Intel Service members.
