A Letter from Abu Abdul Rahman al-Iraqi, Deputy Emir of al-Qaeda in Iraq, to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi Claims “Signs of Victory” for the Mujahideen
By SITE Institute
October 2, 2005

A letter addressed from Abu Abdul Rahman al-Iraqi, Deputy Emir (Prince) of al-Qaeda in Iraq, to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, dated yesterday, October 1, 2005, claims that the mujahideen have entered the ?threshold of a new stage in this war,? standing triumphant as the coalition and Iraqi military are allegedly suffering continuous defeats. Further, Abu Abdul Rahman states that the ?new religion? of democracy is in its ?throes of death,? that the foreign media distorts by the ?television victories? and capture of purported Zarqawi deputies and aides seeking to ?reinstall life in this sick body [of the enemy], close to death.?

The letter also contains pledges of loyalty to Zarqawi, promising commitment to jihad and the sacrifice of souls and money. Abu Abdul Rahman concludes with the prayer to Allah that He may make Zarqawi ?a thorn on the necks of the enemies, and finally bestow you [Zarqawi] martyrdom.?

A full translation of the letter is provided to out Intel Service members.
