Global Islamic Media Front Presents the Series: “Where is Your Gear for Jihad? How Do You Gear Up?” – Part 3 Concerning the Allocation of Time for Prayer
By SITE Institute
October 3, 2005

The Global Islamic Media Front, an al-Qaeda mouthpiece, recently disseminated an information series titled: ?Where is Your Gear for Jihad? How Do You Gear Up?,? to jihadist forums, of which the first two parts were translated by the SITE Institute . The third issue, titled: ?Your Time is Precious,? explores the aspect of faith in a mujahid?s preparation for jihad, emphasizing that devoutness to Allah and attendance of daily prayers are as important as attention to military training.

The author of the guide believes that most Muslims are shirking their religious duties of attending prayer, and those who wish to commit to jihad are lacking the necessary ?enthusiasm? for understanding ?time, planning, the way, and the objective? - four steps for jihad preparation. He states: ?the mujahid wants to be in the first row in the battlefield and also, he should keep himself in the first row of prayers.? Attending dawn prayer, which the author notes even the ?infidel woman?, Golda Meir, understood, is essential, and one of ten requirements of those who wish to be faithful to Islam and jihad. This list, which also contains recommendations to abstain from discussions with others, respond first to the call to prayer, and pray in the middle of the night, is but one means so that a mujahid?s training does not ?go astray after a period of time.?

A translation of selected excerpts from the guide is provided to our Intel Service members.
