Al-Qaeda in Iraq Congratulates the Muslims for Beginning the Month of Ramadan and Urges to Intensify Attacks
By SITE Institute
October 5, 2005

The Shari?a Committee of al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn] issued a statement dated Monday, October 3, 2005, congratulating Muslims for beginning the month of Ramadan and calling for intensified attacks upon coalition and Iraqi forces. The group references historical examples of Ramadan as a month of ?hard work and jihad? and urges Muslims to ?fight the cross-worshippers who disgraced our sacreds, dishonored our women, demolished our mosques, and burned the Qur?an.?

The message also prays for the mujahideen to be unified and victorious upon their enemy.

A translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
