Al-Qaeda in Iraq issued four messages and an accompanying one-minute video today, October 10, 2005, claiming responsibility for detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) today on an Iraqi police car on the expressway of Mohammad al-Qasem, in Baghdad, detonating a car bomb on Iraqi National Guards in al-Sha?ab, also today in Baghdad, and a suicide bombing last Friday in Tal Afar, allegedly killing thirty National Guards, as depicted in the film.
Further, the group responds to Leith Kubba, the spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Ja?afari, and his alleged boasting about ?his masters? heroism in targeting the Sunni cities and to mention the number of terrorist casualties,? challenging Kubba to show which targets were hit and who were captured. According to the statement: ?These lies will not get his masters out of the mud of death which started to swallow them in the cities of the Sunni people, or to save them from the agony of defeat that they will see in the coming days; it will be more bitter.?
