Al-Qaeda in Iraq Announces the Kidnapping of Moroccans from the Moroccan Embassy in Baghdad, and Claims Responsibility for Assassinating Iraqi Security Officials in Baghdad, and Bombing an Iraqi Police Patrol in al-Madain

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in four communiqués issued today, October 26, 2005, announces the kidnapping of Moroccans from the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad, indicating that they are ?still being investigated,? and claims responsibility for assassinating Colonel Abdul Momeim Sawady al-Jawary, an officer of the ?intelligence of major crimes? in Baghdad al-Rasafat and detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) on an Iraqi police patrol in al-Madain, yesterday, and assassinating a National Guard member in al-Dawra, on Monday.

Media reports indicate that Abderrahim Boualam and Abdelkrim el Mouhafidi, two employees at the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad, were reported missing Thursday, October 20, 2005, on the road between Baghdad and the Jordan capital, Amman.
