Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Bombings and Assassinations Targeting American and Iraqi Forces in al-Mosul, Kirkuk, Heet, and al-Yusefiya, and the Television Building of the National Kurdish Union in al-Mosul

In eight communiqués issued today, October 27, 2005, Ansar al-Sunnah claims responsibility for several bombing operations targeting Iraqi forces, television facilities of the National Kurdish Union, and American vehicles, and the assassination of Iraqi police officers in al-Mosul, Kirkuk, Heet, and al-Yusefiya. The group claims the following:

  1. Bombing the Broadcast and TV Buildings of the National Kurdish Union with Five Mortar Shells
  2. Assassination of a Converter Working in the Police Intelligence in al-Mosul (Abdul Jabbar Salem Ismail)
  3. Assassination of the Police Center Direct with Machine Guns in the City of Kirkuk
  4. Bombing the Police Center in al-Yusefiya with Four Mortar Shells
  5. Attack on a Police Patrol with Missiles and Machine Guns
  6. Detonating a Car Bomb on a National Guard Convoy in al-Howeija, in Kirkuk
  7. Bombing Ein al-Asad Base with Two Krad Rockets in Heet
  8. Detonating an Explosive Package on an American Vehicle, Killing Four Crusaders in Kirkuk
