The Shari’a Committee of al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues a Statement about the Status of the Captured of the Moroccan Government Embassy
By SITE Institute
November 3, 2005

The Shari?a Committee of al-Qaeda in Iraq issued a statement today, November 3, 2005, concerning the status of the two captured Moroccans of the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad. According to the message which reminds of the ?declared war? upon the diplomatic envoys in Baghdad, the Shari?a Court found the Moroccans as ?supporters to Satan, and a brick in the infidel structure which was built in the Muslim land of Morocco.? In addition, the Court deemed them as ?ground layers? for the promised ambassador to Baghdad, and as such, decided to punish the ?converters as per Allah?s order; to be killed according to His Shari?a.?

The group scoffs as the concept of ?diplomatic immunity,? stating that such does not exist in Muslim lands, and further, voices their disgust with those who ask for the release of the captured on the occasion of Fitr feast, marking the end of the holy month Ramadan.

A full translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
