A Statement from al-Qaeda in Iraq Elaborates Upon the Bombings in Jordan
By SITE Institute
November 10, 2005

Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn] issued a second statement today, November 10, 2005, regarding the Jordan bombings, elaborating upon their operations, including the reasons why the hotels were chosen and motivation for the suicide bombings. The group explains that each target was a favored location of Western and Israeli intelligence agencies, and where the ?secret battles took place to what is called War on Terrorism?. In addition, the statement indicates that the hotels were used as ?backdoor safe houses? by officials in the Shi?ite government in Iraq, after ?the mujahideen in Baghdad turned it into hell even in the Green Zones.?

The group references Jordanian officials as ?traitors,? and alleges that the ?crusaders? used the hotels as bases through which their camps were managed and meeting held with NATO officers. The message states: ?It was a playground for Jewish terrorists and Westerners to spread their filth on account of the Muslim blood and suffering in these countries.? Further, al-Qaeda in Iraq warns that they will never ?hesitate one day in targeting these dens, wherever they are,? and what will come in the coming days will make the enemy forget the dilemma of the present.

A full translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
