Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] issued a statement today, November 23, 2005, concerning the claim that the group?s Emir, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, had been killed in al-Mosul, as well as providing details into the confrontation in al-Mosul in which he was to have been killed. The group regards these claims as ?lies that the Crusaders were pleased about,? acknowledging the tests performed by the ?advanced labs? as evidence of how ?silly and shallow these people are the big mess they fell into in the land of jihad and glory.?
About the confrontation on Saturday night, November 19, in al-Mosul and the storming of a house occupied by mujahideen of al-Qaeda in Iraq, the statement indicates that the five members in the house had prepared themselves. The statement explains that a female mujahid detonated her explosive belt, and the others followed suit, allegedly killing fifteen ?crusaders? and twenty Iraqi National Guards.
