The Islamic Army in Iraq Claims Responsibility for a Car Bombing at the Police Academy in Baghdad

The Islamic Army in Iraq issued a communiqué today, December 6, 2005, claiming responsibility for detonating a car bomb today on the police academy building in Baghdad, as a response to the ?ethnic campaigns? by the Ministry of Interior.? According to the message, ?tens? of the officers were killed or injured.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, today, also claimed responsibility for an attack on the police academy in Baghdad, stating that two suicide bombers detonated themselves amongst the officers. Media reports indicate that 27 people were killed and 50 more injured as a result of the explosions.
