The Islamic Army in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Attacks Targeting American and Iraqi Forces in al-Hella, al-A’ameriya, al-Doloeiya-Yathreb Road, and Yathreb
By SITE Institute
December 6, 2005

The Islamic Army in Iraq, in four recently issued messages, claims responsibility for destroying an American Humvee on the road of al-Doloeiya-Yathreb on Saturday, December 3, 2005, and detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) on American Humvees in al-Hella on Thursday, December 1, and another, near al-A?ameriya on Friday, December 2.

In addition, the group claims that one December 3, an American Humvee was ambushed in Yathreb and ?showered? with bullets and rockets. The group states that satellite stations were mistakenly reporting that the attack was in al-Doloeiya, but it to be construed as a revenge attack for the bombings that occurred in that area. Referencing these attacks in al-Doloeiya, the group alleges that the Americans are forcing immigration of the people from the area, akin to that ?which happened in 1948 against the inhabitants of Palestine.?

A translation of the four messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
