A Short Message to the Muslims in General, and Especially to the Muslims of the al-Sham Land
By SITE Institute
December 19, 2005

A message addressing the Muslim nation and especially those Muslims in Syria of an impending dismantling of the Syrian regime by the ?Zionist/Crusader alliance,? was recently issued to a jihadist forum. This message seems to be the complete version of a redacted document distributed to the forum in November 2005 . The author alleges that the West has become disenchanted with Syria?s ruling regime and inflated the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri to be international in scope as a step towards ousting the government. Regardless of Syria bowing to the ?idiot monster,? he believes that ?the hit against Syria is coming for sure?. To confront this situation when the conflict arises, the author advocates the unification of Muslims under the flag of the ?Global Islamic Front? and jihad.

According to the text, the ?Zionist/Crusaders? seek the enslavement of the Muslim people and select their puppet leaders who best achieve that goal, citing Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan and the present situation in Iraq. The author argues that the current burgeoning presence of the ?Islamic jihad forces? and the Syrian regime?s alleged failure in controlling it has caused the enemy to seek their removal. Further, the author lists five points he finds prudent for the Muslim people to follow to achieve victory in the coming jihad, including: reviving the spirit of jihad ?which died in the hears of Muslims,? unification of Muslims and the abolition of political borders, ?liberate? al-Aqsa Mosque, and the expulsion of Americans from Muslim lands, especially Saudi Arabia.

A translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
