Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Bombings Targeting American and Iraqi Forces in Balad, Kirkuk and Tikrit, a Sniper Attacks Killing American Soldiers in al-Howeija

Ansar al-Sunnah issued five communiqués today, December 21, 2005, claiming responsibility for bombing operations yesterday targeting a convoy carrying supplies to the American Army in Balad, an American Humvee in al-Rashad, west of Kirkuk, and an Iraqi police vehicle in Tikrit, and sniper attacks murdered two American soldiers in the area of al-Howeija, west of Kirkuk, yesterday and Sunday. In addition, the group issued a communiqué yesterday, December 20, listing six operations executed in Toz Khormato and al-Debs, involving the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on American and Iraqi targets between Monday, December 12, and Sunday, December 18.
