Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Attacking the Headquarters of Iraqi Security in Bahraz and a Representative of al-Sistani in Diyali

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in two communiqués issued today, December 26, 2005, claims responsibility for an attack today on the headquarters of Iraqi police and National Guard in Bahraz, allegedly killing twenty ?renegades? and taking weaponry from inside the headquarters, which were empty after the ?renegades had fled,? and an attack last Thursday, December 22, involving the attempted assassination of Tah Abd Samid, a representative of Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Diyali. According to the message: ?It is most likely that he died because he was severely injured?.

A translation of both messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
