Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Launching Rockets into Israel
By SITE Institute
December 29, 2005

Al-Qaeda in Iraq issued a communiqué today, December 29, 2005, claiming responsibility for launching ten Krad rockets from Lebanon into ?chosen targets? in north Israel. According to the message, the attack involved a period of ?planning and reconnaissance? and was executed according to the promise of Sheikh Usama bin Laden, which was not understood by the ?sons of monkeys and pigs and worshippers of devil and their supporters in Muslim lands.?

Further, the message indicates that the coming attacks will be more ?bitter and harmful.?

Media reports indicate that missiles were fired from southern Lebanon into the residential area of Kiryat Shemona, in north Israel, on Tuesday, December 27, 2005.

A translation of both messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
