Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for a Suicide Bombing in Samarra, Bombing American Soldiers along Shahraban Road, and Assassination the Chief of Police at al-Saqlawiya Station

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in three communiqués issued today, December 30, 2005, claims responsibility for detonating two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) yesterday on the road of Shahraban, allegedly killing ten American soldiers and burning two Humvees, a suicide bombing yesterday on an Iraqi police convoy in Samarra, allegedly killing thirteen officers, and the assassination of the chief of the al-Saqlawiya police station, killing three of his aides and injuring a fourth in the attack.

A translation of the three messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
