The Kuwaiti Mujahideen in Iraq Issue a Statement Responding to the Verdicts of Kuwaiti Judges Against the Captured Mujahideen
By SITE Institute
December 30, 2005

A statement allegedly composed by a member of the Kuwaiti mujahideen in Iraq and distributed amongst jihadist forums, dated December 27, 2005, responds to the recent sentencing of mujahideen of in Kuwait, stating doing such is tantamount to a declaration of war on the ?honorable, free, and Tawhid people in Kuwait? and this will be met with a military response against the Kuwaiti regime. The statement indicates that the sentencing was to ?please Ameirca? and is considered ?treason? against the Islamic nation.

On December 27, six men were sentenced to death for their roles in four shoot-outs between Islamic militants and Kuwait security in January of this year. These men were included in a sweep of 37 Muslims, of which twenty-two received jail sentences ranging between four months and fifteen years, and seven were acquitted for suspected complicity in a terrorist cabal.

A translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
