Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Bombing Patrols of American and Iraqi Forces in al-Howeija and Baghdad, and Assassinating Two Badr Members in Baghdad

Ansar al-Sunnah issued three communiqués today, January 4, 2006, claiming responsibility for detonation an improvised explosive device (IED) today on an American convoy in al-Howeija, allegedly killing ?not less than four soldiers,? detonating a car bomb on a patrol of Iraqi security forces in al-Kazemiya in Baghdad, and assassinating two Badr Brigade members, one of which is allegedly a ?top leader? in the al-Habeebiya and al-Dawra sections of Baghdad.

A translation of the three messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
