Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Bombing Operations Targeting American and Iraqi Forces in Ameriyat al-Fallujah and Baquba, and the Assassination of a Spy in Baquba

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in five communiqués issued today, January 13, 2006, claims responsibility for bombing operations in al-Fallujah, involving a remote control car bombing Tuesday on a ?Crusaders? convoy? in al-Ameriyat al-Fallujah and the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) on a similar target the same day; in Baquba, detonating an IED Monday on an American convoy on al-Sada Road and another on an Iraqi police patrol; and the assassination of one of the ?Crusaders? spies? in the Shaharaban area of Baquba on Tuesday.

A translation of the five messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
