The Mujahideen Shura Council Claims Responsibility for Assassinations Targeting Iraqi Security Officials and an al-Ghadr Leader, and Bombings Targeting “Crusaders” in Baghdad and Ameriyat al-Fallujah
By SITE Institute
January 19, 2006

The Mujahideen Shura Council issued six communiqués today, January 19, 2006, claiming responsibility for several assassinations, including the director of Abu Ghraib Hospital, allegedly also a leader in al-Ghadr Brigade, two ?Crusaders? agents? in al-Zera?a, and an Iraqi intelligence figure west of Baghdad, in addition to detonating improvised explosive devices (IED?s) on a ?Crusaders? convoy? yesterday in Ameriyat al-Fallujah and last Friday on a Humvee. The group also claims responsibility for bombing a military camp in al-Sayediya yesterday with mortar shells.

The Mujahideen Shura Council, according to their statement of establishment, is composed of six insurgency groups in Iraq: al-Qaeda in Iraq, Victorious Army Group, Ansar al-Tawhid Brigades, Islamic Jihad Brigades, the Strangers Brigades, and the Horrors Brigades, collaborating to meet the ?unbelievers gathering with different sides? and defend Islam.

A translation of the six messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
