A Message Claiming the Murder of Forty Russian Soldiers in a Single Attack on the Western Front, and an Additional Three in the Village of Dorqo
By SITE Institute
January 20, 2006

A statement recently posted to the Arabic website of the Chechen mujahideen, alqoqaz.net , reports that on Friday, January 13, 2006, over forty Russian soldiers were purportedly killed in an attack on their multi-vehicle convoy on the western front. According to the message, ?nobody was spared.? In addition, an attack was executed that resulted in the death of three Russian security soldiers in the village of Dorqo.

The message also states that the Russian media has ?blackened? the reality of the heavy losses dealt to the Russian forces by the mujahideen, as well as to cover the ?scandals that are performed by its soldiers against the unarmed civilians which contradict with the simplest values and morals.?

A translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
