The Indonesian Branch of Hizb al-Tahrir Issues an Addendum to their Statement Condemning the Caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, Calling for the Creation of a Muslim Caliphate
By SITE Institute
February 7, 2006

In an addendum to the statement from the Indonesian branch of the Islamic fundamentalist group, Hizb al-Tahrir, condemning caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad and initially posted to their website on Saturday, February 4, 2006, the group states that there is urgency in creating a Pan-Islamic state to ?restore the glory of Islam? and Muslims, and instill fear in the ?infidel? nation. The group laments what they see as a problem that no country at present ?imposes the penalty on the perpetrators? and editors and leaders may be ?free to act?.

A translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
