Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Attacking the House of the Chief of Police of Kirkuk, Bombing Targeting “Crusaders” in Kirkuk and al-Mosul, and Firing Upon Women Working as National Guards in Kirkuk

In four communiqués issued today, February 23, 2006, amongst nearly a dozen, Ansar al-Sunnah claims responsibility for an attack on the house of Major Borhan, the chief of police in the city of Kirkuk, allegedly inflicting losses upon the security set up around it; detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) yesterday on a ?Crusader? convoy in Kirkuk, and another IED Tuesday on an armored vehicle in al-Mosul; and firing machine guns on a car transporting women working as officers in the National Guard near the children?s hospital in Kirkuk, allegedly killing ?three or four? of the officers.

A translation of the four messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
