February 24, 2006

The Conquering Army [Jeish al-Fatheen] in Iraq issued two statements today, February 24, 2006, concerning the attacks on the Shi?ite mosque in Samarra, denouncing the attack and ascribing blame to the ?Crusaders? due to ?their failure to conspire a fitna,? or schism, and since both Ayman al-Zawahiri and Abu Muhammad al-Maqdasi prohibited attacks against such targets. In addition, the group warns against any additional attacks on the Sunnis and states that they are not for wont of mujahideen or equipment.

Also, in two videos with attached messages issued today, the group claims responsibility for firing a Krad rocket at a combined barracks of ?Crusaders? and Iraqi National Guards in al-Khalidiya, and firing mortar shells at the citizenship building in al-Ramadi.

A compilation of the videos and a translation of the four messages are provided to our Intel Service members.
