Al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia Elaborates upon the Attack at Abqaiq Oil Refinery and Denounces the Saudi Media for Calling the Operation a Failure
By SITE Institute
February 27, 2006

A statement issued yesterday, February 26, 2006, by al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia elaborates upon the group?s claim made the previous day concerning the attack upon the Abqaiq oil refinery in eastern Saudi Arabia. The group names the two suicide cars bombers involved in the operation, and describes the cell of mujahideen who first entered the refinery compound, allegedly killing and injuring guards, and opening the entry gate, ?after the guards fled,? for the bombers to enter. According to the statement, the claims made by the Saudi media are fallacious in branding the operation a failure and reporting that the two cars exploded at the gate. They state: ?All that is a lie and has no bearing of truth.?

Further, al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia reiterate their intention to ?defeat the cross powers and the devil, and to stop the exploitation of the Muslims? resources,? and the raids will not cease until the ?polytheists? leave the Muslim lands.

A translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
