The Global Islamic Media Front, an al-Qaeda mouthpiece, recently issued a message containing hyperlinks to speeches by Usama bin Laden in which the al-Qaeda emir calls for attacks targeting oil wells in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The timing of this distribution follows the attempted suicide car bombings on Friday, February 24, 2006, at the Abqaiq oil refinery in eastern Saudi Arabia, executed by the al-Qaeda contingent in that state.
Included in the message are selected quotes from bin Laden, including statements that America seeks to control Muslim countries so as to duly possess their oil, and further, an urging to ?hit the supply lines, oil pipelines, and the company?s owners who supply the enemy with their needs in Riyadh or in Kuwait, Jordan, Turkey or elsewhere.?
