A Statement from Ansar al-Sunnah Concerning the Latest Operations in al-Sadr, al-Sha’ab, al-Hilla and Kirkuk and Alleged Media Fabrications
By SITE Institute
March 9, 2006

In a statement issued by Ansar al-Sunnah yesterday March 8, 2006, the group announces that recent attacks executed in al-Sadr and al-Sha?ab, in Baghdad, and al-Hilla and Kirkuk, do not target Iraqi civilians as the media channels report; rather, they seek to kill the ?imposter army? and al-Ghadr forces, who often wear civilian clothing.

According to the statement, following the bombing of the Golden Mosque in Samarra, these forces deliberately burned two-hundred mosques, killing Sunni Muslims and sheikhs, and were not punished for these actions. The group also airs their anger with those ?related to the Sunni people? for calming down the situation and moderating the anger of Sunni youth, negotiating only a deal of financial compensation for the mosques and considering those killed as ?martyrs?. Ansar al-Sunnah states: ?The Muslim blood spilled by the Shi?ites is very precious, the Houses of Allah are not simple rocks and Allah?s Book is not only paper. Because of that a series of blessed operation began that shook the Shi?ites and disturbed their plans.?

A translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
