The Mujahideen Shura Council Claims Responsibility for a Suicide Bombing Allegedly Killing Thirty-Five American Soldiers in al-Karma, and Attacks Targeting “Crusader” and Iraqi Forces in Baghdad, Shahraban, and Tal Afar
By SITE Institute
March 13, 2006

The Mujahideen Shura Council, in four communiqués amongst several issued within the past 24-hours, claims responsibility for a suicide bombing Friday on a house used by American forces as barracks in al-Karma, allegedly killing thirty-five ?infidels? and collecting their weapon following the operation; shooting down two American Apache helicopters in southern Baghdad between Tuesday March 7 and the next day; assassinating two ?converted? translators west of Baghdad yesterday; and destroying a ?Crusader? Humvee on the road of Shahraban by detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) on it yesterday.

In addition, the group issued a 1:09 minute video of detonating an IED on a ?converter?s? vehicle in Tal Afar.

The Mujahideen Shura Council is composed of seven insurgency groups in Iraq: al-Qaeda in Iraq, Victorious Army Group, the Army of al-Sunnah Wal Jama?a, Ansar al-Tawhid Brigades, Islamic Jihad Brigades, the Strangers Brigades, and the Horrors Brigades, collaborating to meet the ?unbelievers gathering with different sides? and defend Islam.

The video clip and a translation of the four messages are provided to our Intel Service members.
