Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Attacks Targeting American Forces in al-Howeija and al-Shorqat, and Assassinations Targeting Ghadr Members and Iraqi Officials in al-Mosul

Ansar al-Sunnah issued four communiqués today, March 16, 2006, claiming responsibility for an armed confrontation with an American foot patrol Tuesday, March 14, allegedly killing four soldiers in al-Howeija; detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) on an American convoy in al-Shorqat, burning a fuel tank and killing two; assassinating two members of Ghadr brigade in al-Mosul today; and murdered a translator working with American forces and a leader of the ?highest council of the devilish revolution? in al-Mosul today.

A translation of the four messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
