A Call for the Establishment of Jihad in Sudan
By SITE Institute
April 27, 2006

Given reserved status atop several jihadist forums is a recent message that presents a view of the establishment of jihad in Sudan. This posting follows Usama bin Laden?s speech which was broadcast by al-Jazeera on Sunday, April 23, 2006, and calls for the mujahideen to become familiar with Sudanese terrain and prepare for jihad. The author follows bin Laden?s argument, and condemnation of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for agreeing to the separation of a UN proposal to split Sudan?s north and south, adding that this is part of an alleged conspiracy to occupy Darfur. He states that the ?Crusaders? seek to ?steal its resources because they find it is too much for Muslims to enjoy their land and wealth!!!?

If the Sudanese Muslims provoke jihad in Sudan, the author believes that it will have three positive conclusions: voiding the agreement to separate Sudan, opening a new military front to alleviate the burden on the mujahideen in Iraq and Afghanistan, and spreading the enemy thin to ultimately demoralize and defeat them.

A translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
