The Military Department in Jaish Ansar Al-Sunnah in Iraq Issues Final Warning About Participation in Elections.
By SITE Institute
January 27, 2005

In a statement posted today, January 27, 2005, to a popular jihadist message board, the Military Department of Jaish Ansar Al-Sunnah [the Army of the Supporters of the Sunnah] - insurgency group which has carried out numerous attacks in Iraq - released a final warning about the participation in the elections in Iraq.

Emphasizing that the polling centers are going to be targeted by the Mujahideen, Jaish Ansar al-Sunnah reminds the Iraqi people that it had ?previously proven the lawful [religious] judgment? of participating in the elections, and repeats its warning to ?everyone against going to and being present at the so-called polling centers of this mockery and dirty blaspheming game, for voting in those centers means electing Gods to be worshipped, other than Allâh… With Allâh?s permission, when we warn [against something], we act [upon it].

The Group vows to target the nominees for the elections, ?even if they were not elected?, and that the hands of the Mujahideen will reach them unless they repent and renounce their blasphemy and apostasy.

A full translation of the warning is provided to members or our Intel Service.
