The Mujahideen Shura Council in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Bombing a British Patrol in Jarf al-Nadaf, Armed Confrontation with American Forces in Haditha, and Fourteen Attacks in al-Ramadi

The Mujahideen Shura Council issued three communiqués amongst several more today, May 31, 2006, claiming responsibility for detonating an improvised explosive device (IED) on a British convoy in Jarf al-Nadaf, an armed confrontation with an American patrol in Haditha, and fourteen separate operations in al-Ramadi between Wednesday, May 17, 2006, and Friday, May 26. The attacks in al-Ramadi, targeting American and Iraqi forces, consist of detonations of ?smart? IEDs, sniper fire, and armed confrontations. In one particular incident described, an ambush at a chicken farm in the area of al-Khalidiya, a purported ten to fifteen ?Crusaders and converters? were killed from a remotely-exploded IED and mortar shell.

The Mujahideen Shura Council is composed of eight insurgency groups in Iraq: al-Qaeda in Iraq, Victorious Army Group, the Army of al-Sunnah Wal Jama?a, Jama?a al-Murabiteen, Ansar al-Tawhid Brigades, Islamic Jihad Brigades, the Strangers Brigades, and the Horrors Brigades, collaborating to meet the ?unbelievers gathering with different sides? and defend Islam.
