The Conquering Army [Jeish al-Fatheen] issued yesterday, June 1, 2006, a 51:42 minute video compilation of their attacks in Iraq targeting American and Iraqi forces. It is structured as a propaganda piece, opening with footage compiled from outside sources of American aggression against Iraqis, including the capture and detainment of suspected insurgents, beatings, and their affect on the populous. A graphic scene in which a father cradles his bloodied child and runs through a street is punctuated by roadside video of destroyed buildings and a desolate landscape. Images of weeping soldiers and a Qur?an placed within a toilet lead into the Conquering Army?s attacks.
The group?s attack compilation is divided into sections of attack: rocket and mortar launchings, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), including one involving explosives placed within a sheep?s carcass, and capture and interrogation of Iraqi forces. Buildings and vehicles lit aflame, truck wreckage, and American soldiers carrying their dead and wounded are interspersed throughout the scenes.
The video is provided to our Intel Service members.
