The Islamic Army in Iraq Issues a Video of Bombing an American Humvee in al-Howeija, and Claims Responsibility for Operations Targeting American, Iraqi, an al-Mahdi Forces in Baghdad

The Islamic Army in Iraq issued five communiqués, one with a thirty-second video, today, June 2, 2006, claiming responsibility for operations yesterday and today, including: assassination of a purported spy of the Iraqi police and a Badr Brigade member in al-Ghazaliya, west of Baghdad; bombing the ?highest council of the Islamic Revolution? in al-Shuala, and detonating two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in separate attacks in al-Monsour and al-Mushahada, respectively targeting al-Mahdi Army member and an American army oil tanker truck.

The video depicts a daytime attack involved the firing of two ?RKG3? shells at an American Humvee in al-Howeija, north of Baghdad.

A translation of the message and the video are provided to our Intel Service members.
