The publishers of Echo of Jihad [Sada al-Jihad ] magazine, a periodic publication electronically distributed via the Internet and featuring articles concerning general mujahideen news from several regions, issued a statement today, June 8, 2006, regarding the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Emir of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Condolences are extended to Muslims all over the world, especially the leaders of jihad in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the writers aver that Zarqawi?s martyrdom will not ?discourage the nation? and will not change anything. The message states: ?It will be nothing but fire on Allah?s enemies everywhere. Our nation can provide more sons. All its men are brilliant commanders. Abu Musab, we have with the Grace of Allah, thousands like him. Let the Crusaders be happy or not because the day of revenge is coming soon, very soon.? Further, Sada al-Jihad warns that the ?day of harvest? for the Shi?ites is nearing.
For the death of Zarqawi, the magazine states that he finally achieved the martyrdom he had sought in the fields of war.
Media reports today indicate that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Emir of al-Qaeda in Iraq, and seven of his aides, was killed in an air strike northeast of Baghdad today. U.S. and Iraqi officials added that Zarqawi?s body was confirmed by fingerprints and a look at his face.
