Asbat Al-Ansar Calls for a Procession in Palestine to Honor Zarqawi
By SITE Institute
June 9, 2006

Asbat al-Ansar released a message today which calls for a march tomorrow honoring Zarqawi beginning in the Palestinian camp, Ein al-Hilwa. The message, which includes images of Zarqawi, states that ?The Islamic power invites you to take part in the march which will start in front of al-Shuhada mosque in the Palestinian al-Hilwa camp.? The message adds, ?We hope that you will participate.? The message ends with a series of pictures of Zarqawi.

Asbat al Ansar is Sunni terrorist group based in Lebanon composed primarily of Palestinians and associated with Usama Bin Ladin?s al-Qaida organization. The group follows an extremist interpretation of Islam that justifies violence against civilian targets to achieve political ends. Some of those goals include overthrowing the Lebanese Government and thwarting perceived anti-Islamic and pro-Western influences in the country. The group was designated a terrorist group on March 27, 2002.

The call for the march, as well as the pictures posted along with the message are provided to our Intel Service members.
