The Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ) issued a message yesterday June 14, 2006, reporting that ?high ranking military sources? recommended to Amir Peretz, the Israeli Minister of Defense, to leave the town of Sidirot in al-Naqab, northern Gaza, since his presence and the location of the Defense Ministry makes the area a target of Palestinian rockets. The group claims that they ?paralyzed life? in Sidirot when they launched a Katyusha rocket at Peretz?s private home. They state: ?Peretz, who killed more than 80 Palestinian citizens since he was appointed to his new position as the Zionist Minister of Defense 40 days ago, warned that he will abandon what he calls ?self-control,? saying that if this doesn?t stop the Palestinian rockets, then the occupation Zionist army will respond ?harshly? to it?.
