Jihadi Message board Instructs Members to Use Jewish Names to Inconspicuously Register Fake Email Addresses
By SITE Institute
February 24, 2005

Jihadi message boards are increasingly focusing on methods of maintaining anonymity over the Internet. A popular jihadi message board, affiliated with al-Qaeda, had provided ?how-to? information on ?penetrating Jewish email addresses?. The author of this posting instructed members to use Jewish-sounding names and Western, including Israeli, domain addresses when registering for free email accounts such as Hotmail.com and Yahoo.com. The author also provided examples of such possible names and addresses.

The SITE Institute has uncovered that since the message was posted this method has already been put to use by members of the jihadi community.

A full translation of the posting and examples of the ?Jewish? email addresses are provided to our Intel Service members.
