Islamic Army in Iraq, Providing Video of the Attack, Claims Responsibility for the Death of Seven American Soldiers

In a statement posted today, March 2, 2005, to an Islamist message board, the Islamic Army in Iraq [Jaish al-Islami fi Iraq] claimed responsibility for the death of seven American soldiers. According to the communiqué, a Humvee carrying seven American soldiers was attacked with little damage. After the individuals exited the vehicle, they inspected the surrounding area, at which time they were assailed by a second round of explosives.

The communiqué details that ?seven of the Christian American soldiers were killed, their body parts and bodies were scattered and their rescuers only found two of their bodies.?

The Islamic Army in Iraq is recognized throughout the region for its efforts to drive the United States and it allies from the country. It is well-known for it military style attacks as well as kidnappings and beheadings. In the past, it has issued statements expressing its desire to carry out suicide operations within the U.S.
