Al-Qaeda in Iraq Posts a Message Claiming Responsibility for the Ambush in Baquba
March 7, 2005

Abu Maysara al-Iraqi, the official spokesman for al-Qaeda in Iraq (Qaedat al-jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn), posted a message today claiming responsibility for an ambush on ?one of the commands of the pagan army? in Baquba, Iraq.

The statement describes that ?at about eight o?clock (AM), the pagan guards, the renegade police, and the Americans convened at this command site.? News reports show that the attack in Baquba, just north of Baghdad, killed eleven people and targeted an Iraqi Police convoy.

The group claims that after seeing a crowd of Iraqi police and American serviceman gather they ?released that ?heroic lion? towards that lowly group (of people) and he hit them, scattered their body parts, and some of them became fine dust, which was disbursed in the air.?

Al-Qaeda in Iraq pledges upcoming attacks in the near future: ?your brothers in the al-Qaeda Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers (Iraq) promise you attacks that will cheer the hearts of the monotheists (Believers of Tawhid), and we ask you to look for us in the next few days.

A full translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
