Islamic Army Captures Two Sudanese Translators
By SITE Institute
March 9, 2005

Today, March 9, 2005, the Islamic Army in Iraq (Jaish al-Islami fe Iraq) admitted kidnapping two Sudanese translators employed at the U.S. base of al-Bakr, north of Baghdad, in statement recorded on video and distributed on the internet.

The group denounces the Sudanese as representatives of a class of people who have ignored repeated warnings to avoid helping the Americans, because ?the material benefits made people forget their religion, honor, and principles, and they did not stop.?

The group has not issued any demands for the release of the hostages, but rather they admit that ?their case was referred to the Shari?a Council to sentence them.?

A full translation of the message, the video clip and a translation of the video clip are provided to our Intel Service members.
