Ansar al-Sunna Army Claims Responsibility for Killing the Head of Security in Kirkuk

On March 17, 2005, the Army of Ansar al-Sunna issued a communiqué claiming responsibility for the assassination yesterday of the chief of security in Kirkuk. The mujahideen, ?using the light weapons (machine guns), the operation materialized by killing him.?

The message did not indicate the General?s identity, however according to AINA , it might be Wa?el Yosif Yacoub, an officer in the internal affairs division in Kirkuk and assistant to the priest of the Kirkuk Chaldean Cathedral, who was gunned down as he was driving home.
