Protectors of Islam Brigades Releases Video of Abducted German-Iraqi Journalist
By SITE Institute
March 25, 2005

A 1.5 minute video released
Wednesday, March 23, 2005, by the Protectors of Islam Brigades, depicts an Iraqi journalist with German citizenship pleading to German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder, and the German media for intevention in his abduction. The Protectors of Islam Brigades is a previously unknown insurgency group.

The audio clarity of the video posted on the Internet is very lo
w. However, the tape delivered to the Baghdad offices of Time Magzine and shared with the Associated Press allowed AP to translate the Arabic statements . The journalist, Abd al-Hussain al-Zaydi, is shown sitting in front of two armed men, while a voice calls on Germany to "set free all Muslims in their country and to sever security cooperation (with) ... the infidel government in Iraq.''

The 1.5 minute video clip is provided to our Intel Service members.
