Statements from al-Qaeda in Iraq Regarding Recent Mujahideen Activities
By SITE Institute
March 28, 2005

On Monday, March 28, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq issued three statements detailing the activities of its mujahideen fighters. In the first release, the group provides a summary of eleven specific operations. The organization claims to have caused several coalition casualties as well as damage to armored vehicles as a result of the weekend activities.

The group also takes credit for a suicide operation at a bar in the district of Haditha. A lion of the Suicide Brigade,? it reads, ?made a heroic attack on an American convoy at a bar in the District of Haditha.? No details of coalition casualties were given.

Finally, the group lays claim to the assassination today of Police Chief Abdel Karim al-Aamry (Abdel Karim Fahad Abbass) of Balat al-Shuhada in al-Doura, Basada. The act was perpetrated by a subsidiary of al-Qaeda in Iraq, the Brigade of Muhammad bin Muslema.

The organization warns:?We say to every agent of the Jews and Christians, this is your fate. Dishonor this in this life and torture in the eternity, you will not escape, you servants of the crusaders.?

Full translations of all three statements are provided to our Intel Service members.
