Jund al-Sham (Soldiers of Levant) Claims Resonsibility For the Three Bombings in Lebanon
By SITE Institute
March 29, 2005

In their sixth statement, Jund al-Sham (Soldiers of Levant) claims responsibility for the three bombings in Lebanon, ?challenging the crusaders once more.? The group has alleged responsibility for the suicide bombing in Qatar killing one person outside a theatre, and in prior communiqués, has called for attacks on Western targets.

The three explosions Jund al-Sham references seem to be those that occurred in the Christian sections of Lebanon during the past week. Three people have been killed, and three more injured.

Regarding the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister, Rafik al-Hariri, Jund al-Sham denies any responsibility. According to their statement, the group asserts that the ?murder incident was a trick of the responsible people [leaders] in the area.?

A full translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
