Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Murder of Chief Contractor of al-Bakr Base and Capture of Another
By SITE Institute
April 1, 2005

In a communiqué recently posted on the Internet, al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] claim responsibility for the capture of two contractors from the al-Bakr Military Base, one of which was killed. The statement included photo ID cards of two men, Bashar A. Fargo or Sofa Hadee Rasheed, but does not specify the identity of the chief they allege to have murdered.

In stating the determination of the chief contractor?s guilt, the message also warns those collaborate with the Allied forces: ?This converter was captured and executed - this is what those whom commit wrong-doings and side with the infidels will face.?

A full translation of the communiqué is provided to our Intel Service members.
